GRLFRND Denim – Review

Hi Guys…!!! So sorry I’ve been away for so long. I’ve just come back from my holiday and now I’m ready-and-raring to post post post!
Before I left for Bali, Revolve sent me a couple of GRLFRND jeans. I am a petite girl at only 40kg and 160cm in height, and because of that I always have a hard time finding the right fit for my jeans. Normally I wear Topshop and Levi size 24. With the Levi’s, it’s always skinny fit as the other cuts are normally too big for me. When it came to ordering from GRLFRND,  I went for the  Helena High-Rise Straight Jeans  and Dovima High-Rise Boyfriend Short, both in a size 23.
So this is what I think about this jeans:

Helena High Rise Straight Jeans – The waist fit is perfect on me. This is a good start! The jeans feature a 26″ inseam, 9″ rise, 14″ leg opening with an asymmetric raw hem and button fly. I would say these jeans are more mid to high rise. The jeans are also not skinny fit, so are not stretchy either, however, they are 100% cotton. For tall girls they would be a perfect crop jeans, for me however, not so much! The hem is a little long, which I am sure all petite girls can appreciate.  It is for this reasons that if you see all my raw hem jeans, most of the time I cut them myself 🙂 With these jeans I chopped about 4″ off the bottom at an angle, as I was trying to replicate the asymmetric look, however in this instance it only had the effect of making me look shorter! Not what I was going for! Straight cut it was.  Time for the Please don’t try this at home warning! I wouldn’t recommend trying it.  It’s an expensive way of buying jeans (although it does save on laundry powder).  I’d recommend either leaving it to the professionals or at least trying the look out on an old pair of jeans first, because cutting them and getting the look right, is not as easy as it looks.
The jeans are very soft but still hug you in all the right places.  They’re lightweight and very comfortable, making them an excellent everyday pair of jeans. I have a few other straight pairs, but none of them look as good as these ones do. The wash is called My Sharona which are a light-blue wash denim, which makes them look like a comfy / lazy-day pair of jeans. I’ve now washed the jeans a few times and so far they haven’t has any colour fade or been mis-shaped. The jeans also have a tiny label at the back, for anyone who doesn’t want to be a walking, talking advertisement – thumbs up all round!

Dovima High-Rise Jeans Boyfriend Short – These shorts are definitely high rise with a relaxed fit and that cool vintage feel. The fit is also perfect on me too. For size 23 these shorts feature a 2″ inseam, 11″ rise and raw hem detail. It’s been awhile since I found a pair of denim shorts that fitted this well, but I can understand that the 2″ inseam could be a little too short for some girls, especially when you’re sitting down and the raw hem wrinkles and makes them look a little shorter. The wash is called Car Wash and it’s like a light denim wash with a few distressed details both around the  waist and pockets.

Overall, I really love the GRLFRND denim. The way they fit, the cut, the material and how simple the jeans are, is just perfect for me. I will definitely buy some more in the future without a doubt. If you guys have any question about them, please give me a shout.

Even if you don’t cut the jeans the right way, they still look damn good. But pretty much everything looks good on you haha I love the shorts too, if it wasn’t autumn already I’d probably but them.
